In the article Learning on the Job, Maddie Meyer is pursuing to becoming a professional sports photographer. For her to achieve that she has to do all these internships. to this date shes had four internships, including the one the picture shows on this article. A photo industry exposure has allowed her to get on the job skill to learn. Maddie Meyer states that she likes these interactions with taking photos like what she did with this boxing picture. Meyer works with Getty's Al Bello and Elsa Garrison that mentors her, she stated that they are " amazing mentors " . She started to explain how "incredibly insightful to compare how they approach events and what each of them come away with after a game." Meyers first time she was very pressured to shoot a large image and at a high quality level. Most of the times shes only asked for that when shes given an assignment to cover sports such as boxing, tennis, hockey etc. which is out of her comfort zone because she hadn't photographed before.  Shes equipped with three Nikon D3's and lesnses from 14mm to 400mm. Her photos she takes claimed to pick up on a players body language to show emotion and illustrate the joy or frustration from the athletes.
